What this trial studies
This observational study aims to assess interstitial lung involvement in Hungarian patients diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). It employs a combination of laboratory markers, X-ray imaging, pulmonary function tests, and quality of life questionnaires to evaluate the presence and severity of interstitial lung disease (ILD). Additionally, the study plans to create a national register based on the collected data and conduct smaller cross-sectional studies focusing on imaging parameters.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis.
Not a fit: Patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a previous diagnosis of interstitial lung disease, lung cancer, or a registered lung infection in the last two months may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved early detection and management of interstitial lung disease in patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on lung involvement in rheumatoid arthritis, this specific approach focusing on the Hungarian population and creating a national register is relatively novel.
