What this trial studies

Researchers will enroll a national cohort of adult beach tennis players who train at least once per week and follow them prospectively for one year to record injuries. Baseline information on training habits, prior injuries, and demographics will be collected and participants will report new injuries during follow-up. The prospective design aims to avoid recall and temporal biases common in past cross-sectional work and to measure injury incidence and timing. Results will be used to identify common injury types and modifiable risk factors to inform prevention and medical care.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Adults (18+) who play beach tennis at least once a week, can read French, and are not under legal guardianship are the intended participants.

Not a fit: People under 18, those who play less often than once a week, cannot read French, or are under guardianship are excluded and would not directly benefit from participating.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this could help prevent injuries and improve care for beach tennis players by identifying who is at higher risk and which practices to target.

How similar studies have performed: Prior work on beach tennis has been mostly cross-sectional and limited by bias, so prospective cohort data are novel though similar prospective approaches in other sports have clarified injury risks.
