What this trial studies

This observational study investigates the effects of Nimbus shoes, designed for daily training and competition, on runners diagnosed with functional equinus. The shoes feature an 8mm drop and are tailored for individuals who are heavier than normal weight, providing enhanced lateral stability and midfoot compression. Participants will be regular runners who meet specific inclusion criteria, while those with severe limb discrepancies or recent lower limb surgeries will be excluded. The study aims to gather data on how this specific footwear influences performance and injury rates in the target population.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are regular runners who have been diagnosed with functional equinus.

Not a fit: Patients with severe limb discrepancies or those who have undergone recent lower limb interventions may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved footwear recommendations for runners with functional equinus, potentially reducing sports injuries.

How similar studies have performed: While there may be existing studies on footwear effects in runners, this specific focus on Nimbus shoes for functional equinus is relatively novel.
