What this trial studies

This quasi-experimental program enrolls nursing students in a 10-week structured resilience training delivered alongside their regular coursework, with one group receiving the program during the semester and a comparison group receiving it after study completion. Participants complete validated questionnaires on resilience and perceived stress before and after the intervention. The curriculum includes cognitive restructuring, mindfulness, and self-compassion practices tailored to common nursing student stressors. Outcomes compare pre/post changes in resilience and perceived stress between the two groups.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are nursing students enrolled in the Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing course at Ain Shams University who consent and can attend most sessions.

Not a fit: Students who are frequently absent or who decline participation are unlikely to receive benefit from the program.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If effective, the program could help nursing students strengthen coping skills, lower perceived stress, and reduce risk of burnout.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies and meta-analyses of resilience and stress-management interventions in healthcare students have shown reductions in perceived stress and improvements in coping, supporting this approach.
