What this trial studies
The China Pulmonary Thromboembolism Registry Study aims to update and report epidemiological data on pulmonary embolism (PE) in China. This ongoing multicenter registry collects data from patients with suspected or confirmed PE or PE with deep venous thrombosis (DVT) across 100 medical centers. Participants are followed for at least three months to assess their in-hospital outcomes and to gather blood samples for precision medicine research. The study seeks to reveal the etiology and pathogenesis of PE in the Chinese population.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients aged 18 years or older with objectively confirmed symptomatic pulmonary embolism or pulmonary embolism with deep venous thrombosis.
Not a fit: Patients younger than 18 years or those without confirmed medical evidence of PE or DVT will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of pulmonary embolism and improve patient outcomes through better-targeted treatments.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in similar registry approaches, indicating the potential for valuable insights into pulmonary embolism.
