What this trial studies
The Chinese PD-LRRK2 Registry aims to create a comprehensive database of patients diagnosed with Parkinson's disease (PD) who have specific LRRK2 gene variants. This observational study will collect clinical data and assess the manifestations of PD using various standardized scales and neurological tests. Additionally, blood samples will be analyzed for biomarkers associated with PD, such as uric acid and inflammatory markers. The goal is to better understand the clinical characteristics of PD patients with LRRK2 variants in mainland China.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this registry are patients diagnosed with Parkinson's disease who have tested positive for LRRK2 gene variants.
Not a fit: Patients without a diagnosis of Parkinson's disease or those who do not have LRRK2 gene variants may not benefit from this registry.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this registry could enhance understanding of Parkinson's disease and improve personalized treatment strategies for patients with LRRK2 gene variants.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on LRRK2 variants in Parkinson's disease, this registry approach is relatively novel in the context of mainland China.
