What this trial studies
This project aims to create a longitudinal cohort of Argentinian patients diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) to gather real-world data over a five-year follow-up period. The study will collect data from patients' clinical histories, focusing on sociodemographic information, clinical manifestations, treatment access, and patient-reported outcomes. Experienced physicians will oversee data collection using a specially designed electronic case report form to ensure accuracy and facilitate research inquiries.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 and older who have been diagnosed with SLE within the last five years.
Not a fit: Patients with other systemic autoimmune diseases or those who have been transferred to other centers may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this registry could improve understanding of SLE in Argentina and enhance access to specialized care for patients.
How similar studies have performed: While similar observational studies have been conducted, this specific registry approach in Argentina is novel and aims to fill a significant data gap.
