What this trial studies
This registry investigates the clinical and survival outcomes of patients undergoing transcatheter tricuspid valve repair or replacement. It aims to optimize patient selection for these procedures by collecting real-world data on treatment outcomes. The study focuses on patients with tricuspid regurgitation, a condition that significantly impacts heart health and quality of life. By analyzing the effectiveness of various transcatheter devices, the registry seeks to improve treatment strategies for this high-risk patient population.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this registry are patients aged 18 and older who are treated with specific transcatheter devices for tricuspid valve repair or replacement.
Not a fit: Patients who are not undergoing transcatheter valve repair or replacement or those with contraindications to the procedure may not benefit from this registry.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this registry could enhance treatment approaches for patients with tricuspid regurgitation, potentially improving their survival and quality of life.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using transcatheter approaches for heart valve repair, indicating a growing body of evidence supporting this treatment modality.
