What this trial studies
This registry collects and documents data on patients with metastatic breast cancer in Austria, aiming to provide a comprehensive overview of the disease's characteristics and treatment outcomes. It includes both prospective and retrospective data collection, focusing on tumor characteristics, medical histories, and treatment sequences. The registry will analyze factors such as median age at metastasis, disease-free survival, and the distribution of metastatic subtypes, ultimately contributing to a better understanding of the disease in the Austrian population.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this registry are patients with histologically confirmed breast cancer and evidence of metastases within the last 10 years.
Not a fit: Patients with non-histological evidence of breast cancer or those without metastases will not benefit from this registry.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this registry could enhance the understanding of metastatic breast cancer and improve treatment strategies for patients.
How similar studies have performed: While this registry approach is systematic, similar studies have shown success in documenting cancer characteristics and improving treatment outcomes.
