What this trial studies
The Chinese Familial Parkinson's Disease Registry aims to create a comprehensive database of patients with familial Parkinson's disease in China. This observational study will assess clinical features using standardized scales and neurological tests, while also collecting genetic data from patients and their family members. Additionally, environmental factors related to Parkinson's disease will be evaluated through questionnaires. The goal is to better understand the unique characteristics and underlying causes of familial Parkinson's disease.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals diagnosed with Parkinson's disease who have a family history of the condition.
Not a fit: Patients without a familial link to Parkinson's disease or those unable to consent will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this registry could enhance understanding of familial Parkinson's disease, leading to improved diagnosis and treatment options for patients.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been registries for Parkinson's disease in other regions, this specific focus on familial cases in China is relatively novel.
