Registry for cardiac PYP scans in patients with heart failure and amyloidosis in Taiwan

A Multi-center Registry for Clinical Information and 99mTc-pyrophosphate Scintigraphy in Patients With Suspected Cardiac Amyloidosis in Taiwan

Observational Far Eastern Memorial Hospital · NCT05593679

What this trial studies

This project aims to collect and analyze data from patients suspected or diagnosed with cardiac amyloidosis (CA) through PYP scans at medical centers in Taiwan. It will involve both retrospective and prospective data collection, focusing on patients with specific clinical signs and imaging results. The study will evaluate the quality of imaging and the correlation between clinical parameters and PYP scan results, potentially replacing invasive procedures like myocardial biopsy. The goal is to enhance understanding of CA and improve diagnostic strategies.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 20 and older with a documented diagnosis or suspicion of ATTR amyloidosis.

Not a fit: Patients with significant systemic diseases or those who refuse clinical follow-up may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to earlier diagnosis and better treatment strategies for patients with cardiac amyloidosis.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited large-scale clinical data on this specific approach, the use of PYP scans in diagnosing cardiac amyloidosis has shown promise in smaller studies.
