What this trial studies

This clinical trial focuses on the surgical reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) using a quadriceps tendon bone autograft. It aims to evaluate the effectiveness of this graft option in patients experiencing knee instability due to ACL injuries. The study will involve arthroscopic techniques to perform the reconstruction, with a focus on the outcomes related to knee stability and recovery. Eligible participants will include those with symptomatic knee instability following an ACL injury, while those with active knee inflammation or other significant injuries will be excluded.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals with symptomatic knee instability following a primary ACL injury.

Not a fit: Patients with active knee inflammation or those requiring revision surgeries may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could provide patients with improved knee stability and recovery outcomes after ACL injuries.

How similar studies have performed: There is a growing body of literature suggesting that quadriceps tendon autografts may be a promising alternative for ACL reconstruction, indicating potential success in similar studies.
