What this trial studies

The study follows colorectal cancer survivors at 6, 12, and 24 months after their first oncological treatment to identify late adverse effects that may influence quality of life. Participants complete validated questionnaires covering physical, psychological, and social well-being, while researchers record diagnosis and specific treatments received. The prevalence of late adverse effects will be measured and analyzed for associations with cancer type and treatment modalities. Findings will be used to map common long-term problems and inform supportive care at the treating institution.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are working-capable adults aged 25–65 with colon or rectal cancer who received their first oncological treatment at the Institute of Oncology Ljubljana and can complete follow-up questionnaires and consent.

Not a fit: People outside the 25–65 age range, those unable to complete questionnaires or attend follow-up visits, and patients treated elsewhere are unlikely to benefit directly from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the findings could help clinicians identify and manage late side effects to improve long-term quality of life for colorectal cancer survivors.

How similar studies have performed: Previous follow-up studies have identified common long-term effects after colorectal cancer, so this approach builds on established research while providing local, treatment-specific data.
