What this trial studies
This is an observational study of patients admitted to the complex withdrawal unit at the CHU de Strasbourg between January 1 and November 1, 2024. Investigators will collect psychiatric diagnoses and responses to screening questionnaires and record relapses that occur during hospitalization. They will analyze which psychiatric diagnoses are associated with higher relapse risk and whether routine screening questionnaires improve diagnostic reliability. The findings will be used to suggest ways to adapt care and reduce in-hospital relapse rates.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: People aged 16 or older who were hospitalized in the complex withdrawal unit at the CHU de Strasbourg during the study period and agree to participate.
Not a fit: Patients under 16, those not hospitalized in this specific unit or timeframe, or whose relapses are driven primarily by non-psychiatric factors may not gain direct benefit from the findings.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the results could help tailor care to patients' psychiatric risk profiles and reduce in-hospital relapses.
How similar studies have performed: Previous research has linked psychiatric diagnoses to higher relapse risk, but which specific diagnoses matter and the added value of screening questionnaires remain uncertain.
