What this trial studies
The Shanghai Ovarian Cancer and Family Care Project aims to investigate ovarian cancer through a comprehensive approach that includes multiple cohorts: patients diagnosed with ovarian cancer, those at high risk, and healthy individuals. This observational project leverages hospital-based resources to enhance understanding of ovarian cancer detection, prevention, early diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis. By analyzing data from these diverse cohorts, the project seeks to address critical gaps in ovarian cancer research and improve patient outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients attending the oncology department for differential diagnosis of ovarian cancer, those with known high-risk factors, and individuals with normal findings from physical examinations.
Not a fit: Patients with evidence of another active cancer or those who have undergone prior bilateral oophorectomy may not benefit from this project.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this project could lead to improved strategies for the early detection and prevention of ovarian cancer, ultimately enhancing patient survival rates.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies focusing on ovarian cancer cohorts have shown promise in improving understanding and outcomes, indicating that this approach is supported by previous research.
