What this trial studies

This clinical trial aims to prevent non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and cardiovascular disease (CVD) by implementing a lifestyle intervention program called MAUCO+. The study will involve 300 participants who will be randomly assigned to either a control group receiving standard recommendations or an experimental group receiving tailored exercise and dietary interventions. The goal is to improve physical fitness, body composition, and metabolic health through supervised exercise and an anti-inflammatory diet. The trial specifically targets individuals with gallstone disease and varying degrees of NAFLD.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals with gallstone disease and varying degrees of NAFLD who are able to participate in lifestyle modifications.

Not a fit: Patients with significant comorbidities or physical limitations that prevent them from engaging in exercise may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly reduce the risk of liver and heart diseases in participants.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown positive outcomes with lifestyle interventions for similar conditions, indicating potential for success in this approach.
