What this trial studies
This clinical trial investigates the effectiveness of Pilates exercises combined with conventional therapy for alleviating neck pain and improving range of motion in children aged 12 to 17 suffering from text neck syndrome. Participants will be randomly assigned to either a conventional therapy group or a Pilates plus conventional therapy group over a six-week period. The study aims to assess pain levels, functional disability, and range of motion using standardized measurement tools. The goal is to determine if Pilates can enhance recovery and daily functioning in affected children.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are children aged 12 to 17 who use smartphones for more than 4 hours a day and exhibit symptoms of text neck.
Not a fit: Patients with cervical fractures, trauma, scoliosis, or other significant neck conditions may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly reduce neck pain and improve the quality of life for children affected by text neck syndrome.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited research specifically on Pilates for text neck syndrome, similar interventions have shown promise in improving neck pain and posture in other populations.
