What this trial studies
This single-group, quasi-experimental pretest–posttest project enrolls nursing students at Istanbul Aydin University's Faculty of Health Sciences. Participants will complete questionnaires measuring climate change awareness and climate-related anxiety before and after a peer education intervention. The intervention is delivered by trained peers and targets knowledge of climate-related health impacts and coping strategies. Findings will be used to support integration of sustainability and environmental health topics into nursing education.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal participants are current nursing students enrolled at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Istanbul Aydin University, who consent to attend the peer education sessions and complete questionnaires.
Not a fit: Those not in the nursing department, students who cannot attend sessions or provide consent, or individuals whose anxiety does not respond to educational approaches may not gain benefit.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the intervention could increase nursing students' knowledge of climate-related health risks and reduce eco-anxiety, helping them feel better prepared to address climate and health in practice.
How similar studies have performed: Peer education has shown benefits in other health education contexts, but evidence specifically addressing climate-change awareness and eco-anxiety in nursing students is limited.
