What this trial studies
The Active Older Adults prospective cohort study investigates the impact of a park-based fitness program on cardiovascular fitness in individuals aged 50 and older. This program, run by Miami-Dade County Parks and Recreation, offers low-cost group exercise sessions that include aerobic workouts, strength training, balance, and flexibility exercises. Sessions are conducted two to three times a week, either online or in-person, and aim to help participants maintain independent lifestyles. Data is collected every four months from various park locations to assess the program's effectiveness.

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are older adults aged 50 years and above who reside in Miami-Dade County.
Not a fit: Patients younger than 50 years or those not residing in Miami-Dade County will not benefit from this study.

Inclusion Criteria: * Aged 50 years or older, residing in Miami-Dade County * All participants enrolled in the Miami-Dade Active Older Adults study will be included in this secondary analysis Exclusion Criteria: * Aged less than 50 years, not residing in Miami-Dade County * Anyone not enrolled in the Miami-Dade Active Older Adults study will be excluded from this secondary analysis
