What this trial studies

This study aims to collect data on the effectiveness of endoscopic ultrasound-guided celiac plexus neurolysis (EUS-CPN) as a pain management technique for patients suffering from chronic pancreatitis. Chronic pancreatitis is associated with severe abdominal pain, and traditional pain management methods often involve narcotics, which can lead to adverse effects and dependency. The study will track the outcomes of patients undergoing EUS-CPN, which involves injecting a neurolytic agent to inhibit pain signals from the celiac plexus. By evaluating this approach, the study seeks to provide insights into alternative pain management strategies for chronic pancreatitis.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 and older who are referred for pain treatment related to chronic pancreatitis.

Not a fit: Patients under 18 years of age or those without chronic pancreatitis will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve pain management for patients with chronic pancreatitis, reducing reliance on narcotics.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown that celiac plexus neurolysis is a safe and effective method for pain management in chronic pancreatitis, indicating potential success for this approach.
