What this trial studies
The KISS project aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a pain neuroscience education program (PNE4Adults) on rehabilitation outcomes for patients suffering from chronic musculoskeletal pain. This program addresses maladaptive beliefs and psychological factors associated with chronic pain, which can hinder recovery. By combining pain science education with usual care, the study seeks to improve patients' pain management, self-efficacy, and overall quality of life. The study is conducted in specific municipalities in Denmark, targeting adults with chronic pain lasting more than three months.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older with chronic musculoskeletal pain referred for rehabilitation in specific municipalities in Denmark.
Not a fit: Patients with cognitive deficits, serious pathologies, or those unable to cooperate may not benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve pain management and quality of life for patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown that pain science education can lead to meaningful improvements in pain management and rehabilitation outcomes, indicating a promising approach.
