What this trial studies
This observational study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Power Over Pain Portal, an online 'stepped-care' program designed for Canadian youth experiencing chronic pain. The program tailors interventions based on the severity of symptoms, allowing participants to access appropriate levels of care. Over a two-month period, 100 youth will use the Portal to interact with its features, with the goal of improving both their pain management and mental health. The study will also assess the implementation of the Portal and gather feedback from participants to enhance its effectiveness.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are Canadian youth who experience chronic pain and have access to the internet or a smartphone.
Not a fit: Patients currently receiving tertiary care for chronic pain or those with untreated major psychiatric illnesses may not benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could provide a valuable resource for youth to manage chronic pain and improve their mental health.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise with stepped-care approaches in managing chronic pain, indicating potential for success with this program.
