What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on collecting clinical and biological data from patients suffering from functional digestive disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome, dyspepsia, and fecal incontinence. The aim is to gather prospective data and biological samples during routine care to identify potential diagnostic or prognostic markers that could enhance therapeutic responses. By understanding the underlying pathophysiology of these conditions, the study seeks to improve treatment strategies for affected patients.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults over 18 years old who have been experiencing functional digestive disorders for more than three months.
Not a fit: Patients who are unable to understand or respond to questionnaires due to cognitive or psychiatric issues may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved diagnostic and treatment options for patients with functional digestive disorders.
How similar studies have performed: While similar observational studies have been conducted, this specific approach to identifying therapeutic markers in functional digestive disorders is relatively novel.
