What this trial studies

This observational study aims to investigate the epidemiological characteristics of heart failure among the elderly population in the Beicai community of Shanghai. It will construct a community-based database and biobank to analyze the prevalence, prognosis, and influencing factors of different stages of heart failure. Participants aged 60 years or older will undergo baseline assessments, including questionnaires, physical examinations, and laboratory tests, with follow-ups every two years to monitor cardiovascular events and mortality. The study seeks to identify effective screening and management strategies for heart failure in this demographic.
