What this trial studies
This study aims to assess the epidemiology of acute intoxications in children, focusing on the social and care factors associated with these incidents. It is a multicentre observational cohort study conducted by AMIETOX, involving Poison Control Centres and Paediatric emergency rooms. The goal is to gather data that will inform better diagnostic and therapeutic management strategies for acute intoxications in the future.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children aged 1 month to 16 years who experience acute intoxication.
Not a fit: Patients who do not provide informed consent will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved prevention and treatment strategies for acute intoxications in children.
How similar studies have performed: While similar studies have been conducted, this specific approach to understanding acute intoxications in children is relatively novel.
