What this trial studies

This study aims to investigate and characterize the profile of patients with advanced basal cell carcinoma (BCC), a common skin cancer. It will collect both retrospective and prospective data on patients diagnosed with advanced BCC, focusing on their clinical characteristics, disease progression, and treatment options. The study seeks to address the lack of accurate incidence data and improve understanding of this condition, which has seen an increase in cases and a younger average age of onset. By analyzing patient data from dermatology and oncology outpatient clinics, the study will provide valuable insights into the management of advanced BCC.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults aged 18 and older diagnosed with advanced basal cell carcinoma who have accessed dermatology or oncology clinics.

Not a fit: Patients who are unable to provide informed consent or do not have advanced basal cell carcinoma will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the understanding of advanced BCC and improve treatment strategies for patients.

How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on basal cell carcinoma, this specific observational approach focusing on advanced cases is relatively novel.
