What this trial studies
CrescNet is a network involving primary care physicians and pediatricians aimed at improving the early detection of growth disorders in children. It collects pseudonymized data on patients' height, weight, and head circumferences from participating pediatricians. This data is analyzed using automated algorithms and reviewed by pediatric endocrinologists to generate quarterly reports with recommendations for managing abnormal growth or weight development. The registry also facilitates epidemiological analyses to understand trends in growth data among children.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study include children of all ages who are seen by primary care or pediatric physicians, regardless of the reason for their visit.
Not a fit: Patients who are not seen by participating pediatricians or those with specific growth disorders that require individualized treatment may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this initiative could lead to earlier detection and intervention for growth disorders and obesity in children, improving long-term health outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies utilizing similar data collection and monitoring approaches have shown success in identifying growth disorders, indicating that this method is both tested and effective.
