What this trial studies
This observational study investigates the relationship between nutrition and the growth and development of children in remote agro-pastoral communities in District Swat, Pakistan. It aims to assess dietary intake patterns and nutritional status among infants and young children aged two years or younger, comparing them with a matched group from urban areas. The study will follow 416 children from rural communities and 416 from urban settings over five years, collecting data on socio-economic status, food security, feeding practices, and anthropometric measurements at regular intervals.

Inclusion Criteria: * Households living in the area from the last two 2 years. * Households having infants or young children ≤ years. * Households planning to reside in the same area for the next 1 year. Exclusion Criteria: * Children with any co-existent systemic diseases, confirmed from medical records. * Children on continuous medications for any medical issue. * Physically or mentally handicapped children
