What this trial studies

The NCRCC study is a large-scale, multicenter observational cohort study that includes participants from 16 hospitals and research centers across China. It aims to assess risk factors for colorectal cancer and develop risk prediction models to identify high-risk populations. Additionally, the study seeks to discover and validate new biological markers for early diagnosis and prediction of clinical outcomes, as well as to evaluate the associations of various epidemiological determinants with survivorship endpoints among colorectal cancer patients. This comprehensive approach will enhance understanding of colorectal cancer and improve patient management.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include men and women aged 40-74 for the screening cohort and those aged 18 and older with newly diagnosed stages I-IV colorectal cancer.

Not a fit: Patients with a history of colorectal cancer or bowel resection, as well as non-Chinese speakers, may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved early diagnosis and personalized treatment strategies for colorectal cancer patients.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in identifying risk factors and biomarkers for colorectal cancer, making this approach both relevant and promising.
