What this trial studies

This intervention aims to test the efficacy of a comprehensive program designed for LGBTQ youth, focusing on their unique experiences of bullying and victimization in schools. The Proud & Empowered (P&E) intervention encourages participants to discuss their challenges and develop coping strategies, while the Make Space initiative seeks to enhance the overall school climate. The study will be conducted across 24 high schools over four years, assessing both individual and school-wide impacts on mental health outcomes and perceptions of school environment. The research will also explore factors influencing the success of the interventions to inform future implementation.

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are LGBTQ students enrolled in one of the participating high schools.

Not a fit: Patients who do not identify as LGBTQ or are not enrolled in the participating schools may not benefit from this study.
