Motor imagery training for pain and function in partial rotator cuff tears
Effect of Motor Imagery Training on Pain, Functionality, Proprioception and Kinesiophobia in Patients With Partial Rotator Cuff Tears

What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of motor imagery training on pain, functionality, proprioception, and kinesiophobia in patients with partial rotator cuff tears. Participants will be randomly assigned to either traditional physiotherapy or motor imagery training, with a total of 20 sessions conducted over 4 weeks. Assessments will be made before the intervention, at the end of the 4 weeks, and at an 8-week follow-up to evaluate changes in pain, functionality, and other relevant metrics. The study aims to provide insights into the effectiveness of motor imagery as a therapeutic approach for this condition.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18-65 with a diagnosis of partial rotator cuff tear and experiencing pain for at least 4 weeks.
Not a fit: Patients with complete rotator cuff tears or those requiring surgical intervention may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly reduce pain and improve functionality for patients with partial rotator cuff tears.
How similar studies have performed: While the use of motor imagery in rehabilitation is gaining interest, this specific approach for partial rotator cuff tears is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
