What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on the Lower Extremity Motor Activity Log (LE-MAL), a semi-structured questionnaire designed to assess the use of paretic lower extremities in daily activities among individuals diagnosed with stroke. Participants will rate their performance across 14 activities, which will help measure their level of assistance, functional ability, and confidence. The study aims to validate the LE-MAL as a reliable tool for capturing real-world lower extremity use, correlating it with other established measures. The results could provide insights into the rehabilitation needs of stroke patients.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged 18-80 diagnosed with stroke who are receiving care at the neurology outpatient clinic in Gaziantep.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of trauma within the last year, substance addiction, or pregnancy may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance rehabilitation strategies for stroke patients by providing a reliable measure of lower extremity activity.
How similar studies have performed: Preliminary studies using similar approaches have shown promising results in measuring upper extremity activity, indicating potential success for this lower extremity adaptation.
