What this trial studies
This study evaluates the impact of mandala art therapy on anxiety and comfort levels in living kidney transplant recipients. It involves a randomized controlled trial where participants in the intervention group will undergo mandala art therapy sessions at various postoperative intervals. Measurements of anxiety and comfort will be taken before and after the therapy sessions using standardized questionnaires. Additionally, qualitative interviews will be conducted to gather insights on the participants' experiences with the therapy.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older who are undergoing their first kidney transplant and are willing to participate voluntarily.
Not a fit: Patients with diagnosed psychiatric illnesses or physical disabilities that hinder drawing may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve the psychological well-being and comfort of kidney transplant recipients during their recovery.
How similar studies have performed: While mandala art therapy has shown promise in other contexts, this specific application in kidney transplant recipients is novel and has not been extensively tested.
