What this trial studies

This observational study aims to assess the long-term renal and patient survival outcomes of individuals diagnosed with lupus nephritis in China. It includes a cohort of patients who underwent renal biopsy for lupus nephritis, with data collected retrospectively from 1996 to 2016 and prospectively from 2017 onwards. The study will follow these patients to determine if their survival rates improve over time. By analyzing this data, the study seeks to provide insights into the management and prognosis of lupus nephritis.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged 14 and older who have biopsy-proven lupus nephritis.

Not a fit: Patients under 14 years old or those who refuse to provide written consent will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of lupus nephritis outcomes, potentially leading to improved management strategies for patients.

How similar studies have performed: While observational studies on lupus nephritis exist, this specific cohort approach focusing on long-term outcomes in a Chinese population may provide novel insights.
