Long-term experience with pituitary tumors
A Twenty-years' Experience in Pituitary Disease: Identification of Prognostic Factors in Pituitary Tumors

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to gather and analyze clinical, biochemical, morphological, and pathological data from over 1600 patients who underwent neurosurgical removal of pituitary tumors over the past 20 years. It focuses on understanding the epidemiology and prognosis of pituitary adenomas and other related tumors, which are considered rare. The study seeks to identify prognostic factors that could help predict outcomes for patients with these conditions. By compiling extensive data, the research aims to contribute to a better understanding of the natural history of pituitary diseases.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults over 18 years old who have undergone surgery for pituitary tumors and have a follow-up period of at least two years.
Not a fit: Patients under 18 years old or those with a follow-up shorter than two years may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve prognostic predictions and treatment strategies for patients with pituitary tumors.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been attempts to classify and understand pituitary tumors, this study's extensive data collection over two decades may provide novel insights into these rare conditions.
