What this trial studies
This study focuses on understanding the mechanisms behind the chronic inflammatory condition known as Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) by examining hair follicle stem cells. Researchers will analyze skin biopsies and blood samples from patients diagnosed with HS to identify the pro-inflammatory characteristics of these cells. The study aims to uncover the genetic and cellular factors contributing to the disease's pathology, which could lead to better treatment options. By comparing the findings from HS patients to healthy individuals, the study seeks to elucidate the underlying causes of HS.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults over 18 years old who have been diagnosed with Hidradenitis Suppurativa.
Not a fit: Patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or under legal guardianship may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this research could lead to new therapeutic strategies for managing Hidradenitis Suppurativa.
How similar studies have performed: While there is ongoing research into Hidradenitis Suppurativa, this specific approach focusing on hair follicle stem cells and their inflammatory response is relatively novel.
