Investigating the immune-inflammatory index in lupus patients
Association of Systemic Immune Inflammatory Index with Disease Activity and Lupus Nephritis in Patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
This study is trying to see how the immune-inflammatory index relates to disease activity in people with lupus, including those with kidney issues.

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to explore the relationship between the systemic immune-inflammation index and disease activity in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), including those with lupus nephritis. By assessing the immune-inflammatory index, the study seeks to provide insights into how inflammation correlates with disease severity and kidney involvement in SLE. The study will include patients who meet specific diagnostic criteria set by the American College of Rheumatology and the European League Against Rheumatism.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals over 16 years old diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus or lupus nephritis confirmed by kidney biopsy.
Not a fit: Patients with other autoimmune diseases, malignancies, or significant comorbidities may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the understanding of disease activity in lupus patients and improve management strategies.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific approach of using the systemic immune-inflammatory index in this context may be novel, similar studies have explored immune markers in lupus with varying degrees of success.
