What this trial studies
This observational study aims to evaluate the long-term sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection in patients who have recovered from COVID-19. It focuses on assessing various potential complications, including endocrine, metabolic, neuropsychiatric, muscular, pulmonary, cardiovascular, and dermatological issues. Patients will be evaluated at baseline upon discharge and again after 3 to 12 months to determine the prevalence and types of these complications. The findings could significantly enhance therapeutic management and long-term follow-up for these patients.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults over 18 years who have recovered from SARS-CoV-2 infection and can understand the study procedures.
Not a fit: Patients with psychological, psychiatric, or other medical conditions that impair their understanding of the study may not benefit.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved management strategies for patients recovering from COVID-19 by identifying and addressing long-term health complications.
How similar studies have performed: While there is ongoing research into COVID-19 sequelae, this specific focus on a comprehensive range of long-term complications in recovered patients is relatively novel.
