Investigating Inflammation in Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy
Local Inflammation in Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy
This study is trying to see if inflammation in the heart plays a role in arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy and how it might help us understand the disease better.

What this trial studies
This study aims to explore the role of local inflammation in patients diagnosed with arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC). It will assess the presence of inflammatory components in the heart using advanced cardiac electrophysiologic techniques and immunological assessments on both venous blood and intracardiac material. The research seeks to document the feasibility of detecting these inflammatory markers, which may contribute to the understanding of ARVC pathophysiology and potential new therapeutic targets. By mapping the right ventricle and analyzing local cardiomyocytes, the study hopes to uncover insights into the disease's progression.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals diagnosed with arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia who are undergoing right ventricle electrophysiologic mapping.
Not a fit: Patients with systemic chronic inflammatory diseases or those on immunosuppressant medications may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to new therapeutic strategies for managing ARVC by targeting inflammation.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific approach of this study is novel, previous studies have indicated the importance of inflammation in ARVC, suggesting potential for success.
