What this trial studies
This observational study aims to explore the relationship between dietary habits and fertility treatment success among women and men undergoing assisted reproductive technology (ART). It will enroll 4000 participants across four fertility clinics from 2022 to 2024, utilizing a web-based food frequency questionnaire to gather data on food intake. Additionally, medical records and national registers will provide information on sperm quality, pregnancy rates, and live birth rates. The findings could help establish dietary recommendations for individuals seeking fertility treatments.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include women and men undergoing fertility treatments such as IVF, ICSI, FET, or IUI.
Not a fit: Patients receiving treatment involving double donation of both semen and oocytes may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide valuable dietary guidelines to improve fertility treatment outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: While there is ongoing research into lifestyle factors affecting fertility, this specific approach to linking food intake with ART outcomes is relatively novel.
