What this trial studies

This observational needs-assessment uses patient surveys and optional focus groups to measure knowledge, attitudes, interest, and potential barriers to an integrative oncology program at USC Norris and the Keck HC3 Women's Clinic. Participants are adult oncology outpatients who speak English, Spanish, or Chinese and have a diagnosed solid or hematologic malignancy. The study will identify predictors of willingness to participate or refer and explore feasibility of integrating services into clinic workflows. Findings will inform how and whether integrative services could be implemented locally.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Adults (18+) with a diagnosed solid tumor or hematologic malignancy who receive care at USC Norris outpatient clinics or the Keck HC3 Women's Health clinic and who speak English, Spanish, or Chinese.

Not a fit: People who cannot give informed consent or who are not patients at the participating USC clinics (or do not speak the supported languages) are unlikely to benefit from participating.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the results could support adding tailored integrative therapies to routine cancer care to improve symptom management and patient experience.

How similar studies have performed: Other integrative oncology programs and studies have shown benefits for symptom control and patient satisfaction, though implementation approaches vary and needs-assessment work like this is commonly used before program rollout.
