What this trial studies
This study evaluates the diagnostic accuracy of new platelet function tests in patients with confirmed or suspected platelet function disorders. Participants will be recruited from the Coagulation Unit at Karolinska University Hospital and the Pediatric Coagulation Unit at Astrid Lindgren Children's Hospital. The goal is to enhance the effectiveness of platelet function testing during bleeding investigations, which could lead to better diagnosis and management of these disorders.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients with known or suspected platelet function disorders who are being evaluated at Karolinska University Hospital.
Not a fit: Patients currently on antiplatelet or anticoagulant medications, or those with other coagulation disorders, may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to more accurate diagnoses and improved management of patients with platelet function disorders.
How similar studies have performed: While this approach is focused on improving diagnostic accuracy, similar studies have shown promise in enhancing the understanding and management of platelet function disorders.
