What this trial studies

Get With The Guidelines-Stroke is an in-hospital program aimed at enhancing the quality of care for stroke patients by ensuring adherence to the latest evidence-based clinical practice guidelines. Since its launch in 2003, over 2,600 hospitals have contributed to a vast database of patient records, which helps track achievement and quality measures related to stroke treatment. The program focuses on critical aspects of stroke care, including timely administration of thrombolytics, antithrombotic therapy, and patient education. By analyzing this data, the program seeks to improve patient outcomes and streamline stroke management.

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this program are patients diagnosed with ischemic stroke, transient ischemic attack, subarachnoid hemorrhage, or intracerebral hemorrhage.

Not a fit: Patients who do not have a stroke diagnosis or are under the age of 18 may not benefit from this program.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this program could lead to significant improvements in stroke care and patient outcomes across participating hospitals.

How similar studies have performed: Previous implementations of similar quality improvement programs have shown success in enhancing stroke care and patient outcomes.
