What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of mobile healthcare education delivered through either a game-based or text-based format to enhance cutaneous self-care capabilities in cancer patients undergoing EGFR-targeted therapy. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups, each using a mobile application for two weeks to learn about managing skin-related side effects from their treatment. The study will assess learning motivation, compliance with self-care measures, quality of life, and user experience through pre- and post-intervention questionnaires.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults over 18 years old who are currently receiving EGFR-targeted drugs and can use a smartphone.
Not a fit: Patients with visual or hearing impairments, or those unable to understand the study procedures in Mandarin or Taiwanese, may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could significantly improve the self-care skills and quality of life for cancer patients experiencing skin-related side effects from treatment.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using mobile health interventions for patient education, suggesting that this approach could be effective.
