What this trial studies
This study aims to address the mental health needs of educators and school-aged children in Puerto Rico who are experiencing burnout and stress due to recent traumatic events. It will implement a mindfulness-based curriculum for teachers and, for children showing PTSD symptoms, combine this with Cue-Centered Therapy (CCT). The study will assess the effectiveness of these interventions in improving emotional resilience and reducing trauma symptoms among participants. By leveraging the unique structure of Puerto Rico's education system, the study seeks to efficiently deliver these mental health resources to those in need.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include teachers and students aged 11-17 at participating schools who have experienced trauma and are willing to engage in therapy.
Not a fit: Patients currently undergoing trauma-focused interventions or with significant cognitive or medical issues may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could significantly improve the mental health and resilience of students and educators in Puerto Rico.
