What this trial studies
This project aims to enhance engagement and outcomes in digital therapy for Latinx students at East Los Angeles College by utilizing peer coaching. A total of 240 students will be randomly assigned to one of four peer coaching conditions that vary by demographic matching and supervision intensity. The study will assess treatment engagement, satisfaction, and mental health outcomes over a 24-week period, collecting both quantitative and qualitative data. The goal is to address the unique mental health needs of Latinx individuals and improve the effectiveness of digital therapy.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are Latinx students currently enrolled at East Los Angeles College who have access to the internet and are either uninsured or covered by California Medicaid.
Not a fit: Patients with severe mental health disorders requiring specialized care or those currently under psychiatric treatment may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve mental health outcomes for Latinx community college students by increasing their engagement in digital therapy.
