What this trial studies
This study evaluates the long-term effects of using advanced massage chairs on sleep quality and overall well-being in individuals suffering from insomnia. Participants will engage in daily massage sessions for 30 minutes before bedtime over a three-month period, alternating between periods of using the chair and not using it. The study aims to determine if these massage sessions can significantly improve sleep quality and life satisfaction for those with severe insomnia symptoms.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals with a score of 16 or higher on the Athens Insomnia Scale and experiencing severe insomnia symptoms.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of mental illness, epilepsy, or other acute or chronic conditions that limit participation may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a non-pharmacological intervention to improve sleep quality for individuals suffering from insomnia.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited research specifically on massage chairs, similar studies on massage therapy have shown positive effects on sleep quality, suggesting potential success for this approach.
