CoPenhagen Heart Failure With Preserved Ejection Fraction (CPH-HFpEF)

Observational Herlev and Gentofte Hospital · NCT06685237

What this trial studies

This observational cohort study aims to identify and screen individuals at risk for heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) using data from the Danish National Health Registries. The study will recruit up to 5000 participants aged 50 and older from the Capital Region of Denmark who have at least two risk factors for HFpEF. Recruitment will be conducted through secure electronic communication to ensure privacy and efficiency. The study seeks to evaluate the effectiveness of identification and screening procedures for HFpEF and to understand barriers to participation among vulnerable populations.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are Danish adults aged 50 years and older with at least two risk factors for HFpEF.

Not a fit: Patients who are younger than 50 years, have prevalent heart failure, or have significant comorbidities such as dementia or cancer may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved early identification and management of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, potentially reducing morbidity and mortality rates.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in identifying and managing heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, but this specific approach is novel in the Danish context.
