What this trial studies

This observational study aims to identify new biomarkers and prognostic factors that can help develop personalized strategies to prevent comorbidities in infertile men. It focuses on understanding the link between male infertility and overall health, particularly the increased risk of both oncologic and non-oncologic conditions. By collecting clinical and biological materials, the study seeks to explore the associations between chronic inflammation, aging, and infertility. The findings could provide insights into the health status of infertile men and inform future preventive measures.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are men aged 18 to 50 with a diagnosis of oligoasthenoteratozoospermia (OAT) or idiopathic non-obstructive azoospermia (iNOA).

Not a fit: Patients with secondary infertility, a history of hematological diseases, or those who have been treated with antibiotics in the six months prior to enrollment may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to personalized prevention strategies for comorbidities in infertile men, improving their overall health outcomes.

How similar studies have performed: While there is emerging evidence linking male infertility to increased health risks, this study's specific approach to identifying biomarkers is novel and has not been extensively tested in previous studies.
