What this trial studies

This intervention aims to improve the quality of life for children with cancer and their parents through a group program that combines self-care techniques and hypnosis. The study focuses on addressing emotional distress, fatigue, and relational difficulties experienced by both children and their parents due to the challenges of cancer. By assessing the feasibility and efficacy of this approach, the researchers hope to enhance coping strategies and overall well-being. The intervention is designed for children aged 8 to 18 years and their parents, all of whom must speak French.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include children aged 8 to 18 years who are currently suffering from cancer or have a sibling with cancer, along with their parents, all of whom must speak French.

Not a fit: Patients who do not speak French or are outside the specified age range may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly enhance the emotional and psychological well-being of children with cancer and their families.

How similar studies have performed: While hypnosis has been effectively used in adult cancer care, this specific approach for children and their parents is relatively novel and requires further investigation.
